Originally named Fuoco d'artificio, or Fireworks, the model 2003 chandelier was designed by Gino Sarfatti for his brand Arteluce in 1939 and executed in 1953 in Milan, Italy. After the Russian satellite Sputnik launched in 1957, the chandelier, which greatly and coincidentally resembled the space orbiter, was renamed. There are 24 points of light stemming from 12 tubular brass arm extensions at center.
